Various Groups and Music:

Gong, Gas and Family - My special friends and muses in the music business. Hard not to love these people and their work. They are the Beat Poets of music. All of their recordings and related stuff is available here and then some ... you can now change all the buttons on your shirt, too ... and still have your infini-tea!

Djam Karet - To my ear one of the nicest things out there and special. I think I love the "No Commercial Potential" in here and the fact that it is about the music and not anything else. Very special indeed. Some call this progressive. I call this the stuff of your imagination, and has nothing to do with anything else but.

Klaus Schulze - I always seem to come back to this music and meditate with it ... the ultimate electronic raga is the trip and no drugs or drink are necessary. In my book, one of the foremost composers of our time, even if it is live and not memorex! But it sure is a memory for your inner experience!

Tangerine Dream - I always have this thought that it is really sad that not more people do not know this group and their massive amount of work. But I think that's ok, not sure that we want the masses worshipping at 3AM on the ... and recall some New Age madness and fantasy again!

AshRaTempel/AshRa - One of the originals in the old "krautrock" thing and story, and like Klaus and Tangerine Dream, they still maintain that spirit and are doing a lot of improvisational material and far out stuff, and it's hard not to appreciate a guitarist that can fly amidst all this and then some. Not "rock'n'roll" for sure!

Vangelis Papathanassiou - He doesn't have a working site as of February, and is like Mike, one of the foremost composers of our time, and deserves that recognition for his work. I'm sure he is more concerned with the music itself and some spoons ... at any rate, even though it is probably unlikely, I sure would like to see this man in concert ... and if I were a musician, I would give of my time for free to get it done ... !

Special Friends:

Guy Guden - the one and only Space Pirate, finally making an appearance on the Internet, not with music, but mostly with his memoirs and minutiae about his comedic characters. There aren't enough people in radio that want to make a difference to appreciate this person's insanity and style of presenting music. Radio was always about the ego of the personalities and picking up the girls anyway ... music? ... you gotta be kidding me! ... and as Guy used to say ... the more things change, the more they stay the same ... or you can quote The Who all day long ... meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

These days (2020) you can find guy doing his show on Twitch ,.,, and if you don't know it, it is a heck of a treat!

Ygdrasil Journal of Poetic Arts -- The premier poetry magazine on the Internet for a long time. We've been at it for 30 years, and you will find a listing here. BEWARE, that the earlier years things were on TEXT, and those are likely not available anymore (I have some issues, but scanning them is a serious issue!), and the listing gives you HTML or PDF. The last 5 years are all PDF, and prior to that since 2000 it is mostly HTML. I don't know that we can put together, or have an "index" of the various folks involved in each issue, and this makes it more difficult to figure out which issue you are looking for. I, Pedro Sena, have my issues all listed and am working on making them available online (only one issue is ready in HTML) from those days as they are all prior to 2000.

The AUDIO issue that was done in May 1999, will finally be available in the next month or so, completely redone although this time it is missing 2 folks that have not gotten, or replied to the emails sent to them. Other than that, it is all there, and I will have a copy of it available on this (my own) website, so you can click and listen.

Prog Archives - probably the best of the boards out there that deal with "progressive music", and even though it has endures a few too many fans of popular music posting questions that sometimes any of us have a hard time not being cynical, in the end, it is massive, and special and deserves better attention. I would like them take down and help explore and write down the history of things and its relation to the arts and the people involved a little more in order to help establish the musicianship involved, a lot more than I would like a "definition" of the term in musical ideas that no one can play with, but that is my own view. Not sure anyone can live down to an "idea" and succeed ... and I think that you have to get rid of those "ideas" in order to succeed ... it's about the music, not the ideas.
